Because kids come first.

All human beings should be respected and loved. Each person is special and deserves the chance to live their life to the fullest. We help those who have fallen down pick themselves up and gain independence.

Our organization grew out of a desire to help those most in need. The staff and volunteers we have are dedicated to helping solve the problems that face our community's poorest and most vulnerable.

Our goal is to serve as many people as we can. One person at a time. We do this with love, compassion and a daily commitment to be the people they can count on for help.

We work directly with those experiencing homelessness. We help them overcome the barriers in their pathway out of homelessness and support them as they find independence.

Street Outreach Program

Our team of volunteers go out into the community during the week and offer help to those experiencing homelessness. We feed several hundred people each week, including some of the 1500+ homeless children in our community.

We use to help us coordinate our volunteer efforts. If you would like to volunteer please follow the link to signup!

Center for Homeless Children

Our goal is to provide a year round Day Center for Homeless Children. Our vision is to have a place where homeless mothers and fathers can bring their children and escape the brutality of homelessness. Our community does not currently have an organization that is focused on the needs of homeless children. We believe it is time to bridge that gap. Our center is staffed with employees and volunteers dedicated to meeting the unique needs of this population. We have a nursery with cribs where babies can sleep and a kitchen for making bottles and creating nutritious meals.

Please consider helping us make this day center a reality by becoming a Foundation Year Donor.

Rapid Transitional Housing Program

Astegos currently operates 7 units of transitional housing with plans for more in the future.

Our focus is to house homeless families that are staying in a shelter or other place not meant for human habitation.

Each program participant family follows an individualized plan that will lead them to self sufficiency within two years.

At this time our program is full. Please check back later for openings.
